This bridge was in desperate need of repairs. The rebar in the concrete was swelling and causing spalling areas that were tripping hazards. The first step was to take out the spalling concrete and expose the rebar. The rebar was then wire wheeled and coated. The spalling areas were repaired. We then applied a moisture mitigating primer over the entire area. Next, we applied a base coat of Tremco 350 over the primer. The next day we applied a coating of Tremco 346 with a full broadcast of dried sand and back rolled the entire area to create a nonslip walk surface. We got the bridge open to pedestrian traffic in less than a week. Whether it’s traffic coatings, pedestrian coatings or polyaspartic chip flooring, we have products and solutions for every coating situation.
