This project took some serious customization and unique planning. Behind this wall is a very high and very active water table. The water, over time, has washed out the fill materials leaving a sizable void behind the wall. We were tasked with filling the void from the inside of the pit with minimal impact to the wall and without excavating the concrete above. We started out by core drilling a hole in the wall through to the other side into the void. We then, quickly, inserted a custom designed gasketed fitting into the wall so we could “turn off” the water table and keep it from filling the pit we were working in. Next, we hooked up our Grayco SL340e pump to the port with a camlock system and pumped grout through the wall filling the void on the other side. To keep the materials from spilling out into the pit we simply “turned off” the water table on the other side again. This was one of the most unique grouting situations we have had to date. We can design systems for every type of grouting situation.
